THIS IS A NOTIONAL POSITION, CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD

SCOPE:
Under the supervision, direction, and responsibility of CHSi, Inc., the Nurse Practitioner performs physical examinations and provides medical care to the employees of a client employer onsite at their place of work; may supervise clinic staff. The healthcare providers (HCPs) will be used to backfill government medical staff that are deployed or unavailable at a clinic or other location as designated. Reports to the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
Health Care Provider shall have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Must have and maintain a current, active, valid, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license from any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. In addition, the Advanced Practice RN must possess a license (or other authorizing document) for advanced practice issued by either the State Board of Nursing granting the RN license or another state effective 1 July 2009. Must maintain a current certification as a family nurse practitioner from a nationally recognized source (or national certifying body), such as the American Nurses Credentialing Commission (ANCC).
The Nurse Practitioner shall have a minimum of one year of experience as a practicing NP. This requirement may be waived for graduates of Army FNP Programs. Clinical experience diagnosing and treating primary care conditions and knowledge of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and related conditions.
Must maintain Continuing Education credit sufficient to maintain both their clinical license and certification and to meet MTF specific Quality Assurance standards for credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provide a wide range of primary health care to individuals of all ages and families, to include direct patient care such as diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, injuries, and disease prevention and treatment; arranges and participates in individual and group health education efforts; participates in local, Federal, and other public health activities as required; provide administrative assistance for clinic activities. As advanced practice nurses, they shall provide nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the management of acute and chronic diseases. Services include but are not limited to the ordering of appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, the prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies. Teaching and counseling individuals, families and groups are a major part of nurse practitioners' activities. Nurse practitioners work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. They serve as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocates.
Provide diagnostic and therapeutic management for children and/or adults with acute common illnesses and stable chronic diseases to include initiating requests for laboratory and radiological tests; making judgments about the use of medications and treatment; and prescribing medications and treatments using acceptable practice standards, guidelines and protocols, consulting a physician when appropriate. Assesses real and potential health hazards and current health status, discriminating between normal and abnormal findings in the physical, emotional and social condition of patients. Initiates emergency treatment, when required (e.g., performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation, initiates treatment for shock, hemorrhage, and emotional crises) when a physician is not available. Administers allergy shots and immunizations. Communicates progress and/or changes to the patient, family and health care team and makes inter-disciplinary referrals as deemed necessary. The HCPs shall utilize nursing processes and models to develop, implement and periodically evaluate therapeutic plans to promote satisfactory patient outcomes. Documents patient's status on a continual basis. Develops data base for individuals/families utilizing health care developmental history, physical examination, and laboratory data, other diagnostic testing as indicated and pertinent psychosocial information. Documents all observations, plans, treatment, teaching and other important findings in patient's records.
Instructs, counsels, and assists individuals/families to meet health needs and assume responsibility for the prevention of illness and the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
Perform a variety of pre- and post- deployment screening activities to include but not limited to PDHA and PDHRA duties. The HCPs shall complete narrative summaries and participate in MEB consults.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
