Lead Experimental Research Scientist/Principal Investigator of experimental development of coherent measurement system for multi-qubit devices:
Advance coherent measurements, gate protocols, and democratizing progress through development of a testbed prototype for spin-based semiconducting quantum dot quantum computing.
Semiconductor coherent measurement experience required.
Lead Experimental Research Scientist/Principal Investigator of experimental research of superconducting-semiconducting hybrid qubit devices:
Impact new and emerging qubit research in superconducting-semiconductor devices, and fundamental challenges at the intersection of superconducting and semiconducting qubits.
Nanoscale fabrication background or fast coherent measurement expertise, and semiconductor qubit or superconducting qubit experience required.
Lead Experimental Research Scientist/Principal Investigator of quantum information science device theory:
Apply deep expertise in the theory of qubits to solid-state systems based on spin qubits and superconducting quantum circuit qubits for quantum computing.
Expertise in theory of qubit systems and condensed matter physics required.
Lead Experimental Research Scientist/Principal Investigator of computational research in quantum information science materials and devices:
Apply deep expertise in computational methods to quantum device modeling and simulation relevant to semiconductor heterostructures, superconducting materials, super-semi-interfaces.
Finite element and density functional theory experience required.
Novel Electromagnetics and RF Technologies:
Discover, understand, and optimize novel electromagnetic and RF technologies.
This research area is focused on the design and discovery of electromagnetic systems to enable wireless systems and next-generation sensor technologies.
Expertise in RF system design, instrumentation, and characterization required.
Hardware Trust:
Design and discovery of imaging, tomography and other novel sensing platforms for failure analysis of next generation fabrication technologies and / or anti-tamper applications.
Expertise in the characterization and inspection of novel material properties and fabricated designs (preferably next generation microelectronics) through novel analysis techniques, measurement and/or modeling/simulation required.
Integrated Photonics for Beyond Moore's Computing and Sensing:
Discover, understand, and optimize novel photonic devices for HPC and / or sensor technology.
Expertise in one or more of the following required - interconnect technology; memory and logic beyond the paradigms established by Moore's law; MEMS; and/or quantum or classical sensing.
Active Devices for Beyond Moore's / Cryo-logic:
Discover, understand, and optimize novel devices for HPC.
Expertise in one or more required - novel transistor development and impact on traditional and unconventional computer architectures; fast measurement and circuit design; design, fabrication, and evaluation of logic and memory devices operating at cryogenic temperatures; and/or logic and memory devices utilizing novel material systems.
Advanced Computing Systems:
Explore, develop, and transition novel computing ideas and technologies to support future large-scale computing systems of importance to NSA missions such as high performance data analytics and cybersecurity.

Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.
Relevant experience must be performing professional engineering or physical sciences work and/or conducting academic or independent research in a technical field (eg, mathematics, engineering, cognitive sciences and physical sciences).
Experience on polymath projects (requiring multiple skills), technical publications, patent applications, and teaching are preferred.
For all of the below degrees, if program is not ABET EAC accredited, it must include specified coursework.
Specified coursework includes courses in differential and integral calculus and 5 of the following 18 areas:
(a) statics or dynamics, (b) strength of materials/stress-strain relationships, (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics, (d) thermodynamics, (e) electromagnetic fields, (f) nature and properties of materials/relating particle and aggregate structure to properties, (g) solid state electronics, (h) microprocessor applications, (i), computer systems, (j) signal processing, (k) digital design, (l) systems and control theory, (m) circuits or generalized circuits, (n) communication systems, (o) power systems, (p) computer networks, (q) software development, (r) Any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, or soil mechanics.
Entry/Developmental With a professional Engineering degree, entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience.
With a degree in either (1) Physics or Astronomy from an accredited college or university or (2) a relevant professional technical field (eg chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, geology), entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
Full Performance With a degree in professional Engineering, entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience.
With a degree in either (1) Physics or Astronomy from an accredited college or university or (2) a relevant professional technical field (eg chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, geology), entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's or Doctoral degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
Senior Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
Degree must be in either (1) professional Engineering, (2) Physics or Astronomy from an accredited college or (3) a relevant professional technical field (eg chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, geology).
Expert Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.
Degree must be in either (1) professional Engineering, (2) Physics or Astronomy from an accredited college or (3) a relevant professional technical field (eg chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, geology).
Salary Range:
$74,682 - $176,300 (Entry to Expert) On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.
Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 to 1800 hrs (flexible).
